  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 fresh beef brisket (2-1/2 to 3 pounds)
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 can (12 ounces) beer or nonalcoholic beer
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 2 teaspoons liquid smoke, optional
  • 1 teaspoon celery salt


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. reduce brisket in half; rub with liquid smoke, if preferred, and celery salt, pepper and salt. area in a three-qt. slow cooker. top with onion. integrate beer and Worcestershire sauce; pour over meat. cowl and prepare dinner on low for 8-9 hours or till tender.
  2. take away brisket and preserve heat. pressure cooking juices; transfer to a small saucepan. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water till smooth; stir into juices. carry to a boil; prepare dinner and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve red meat with gravy.
