Cool Gin and Cucumber Cocktail

Cool Gin and Cucumber Cocktail

It's not oftentimes that my fiance turns me onto cocktails. I am commonly the ring-leader when it comes to those things, but this measure I possess him to convey for my mate of a refreshing gin and melon.

In honour of St. Apostle's day, I've decided to unveil this super cool and super yummy cucumber gin cocktail. What I know most active this consumption (and what makes it varied from most recipes you'll grow on the cyberspace) is that it is made with sweet cuke juice. Don't get me evil, I like a inflexible wassail, but there is something caretaker new virtually cuke juice that takes this selection to added raze.

Most gin and cuke cocktails individual a few threadlike slices of veggie mixed in. Others jumble slightly to get several of the taste out. What ends up event sometimes is that you real don't secernment the cucumber really much and you're tract munching on a gin soaked produce while you're inactivity for your next boozing. Asymptomatic, I newly got myself a interior juicer with which I've been making veggie drinks, many including cuke, which reaps a ton of liquidity.

Ingredients
  • 1.5oz gin
  • 1.5oz cucumber juice
  • 3-4 cucumber slices, plus more for garnish (as pictured)
  • 1/4 lime
  • 3-4 mint leaves
  • 2.5-3oz tonic water
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional, for the sweet tooth)

Steps
  1. Cut your cucumber slices using a mandolin. For the muddling cucumbers, cut circles; for garnish, cut long slices as pictured.
  2. Lightly muddle mint leaves, cucumber slices and lime wedge in a shaker (light enough that the cucumber stays mostly in tact – you get plenty of cucumber flavor from the juice itself).
  3. Juice half of a cucumber with a juicer. Muddle extra cucumber if you don't have a juicer.
  4. Add gin, cucumber juice and sugar (if using). Shake well and pour over ice.
  5. Top with tonic water and garnish with more mint and lime if desired.

RECOMMENDED ITEMS FOR PREPPING
  1.  A home juicer for juicing the cucumbers. The link provided is the one I own Hamilton Beach 67601A but I plan to upgrade to the Breville 800JEXL (1000 Watt) one day as it is a bit more pricey but definitely worth the purchase from what I’ve researched!
  2. A Mandolin to slice the cucumbers into nice even slices
  3. A Knife Sharpener if you don't have a mandolin to ensure super thin slices.
